A patient, family member, physician or may begin the process with a simple phone call. Once a patient is admitted to Hospice of Midland, he or she will be assigned to a care team. These specially trained individuals will visit the patient’s home or current place of residence and assess their needs.
Hospice services are covered by Medicare, Medicaid and most private health insurance plans. Hospice of Midland provides care regardless of one’s ability to pay. Neither the patient nor their families ever receive a bill for our services.
Hospice is not a place it is a philosophy of care that is delivered wherever the patient calls home. This may include a personal residence, long-term care facility, hospital, assisted living facility, group home or homeless shelter.
